Microsoft supports the operation of Linux and FreeBSD virtual machines under Hyper-V and develops the Linux Integration Services for Microsoft Hyper-V (licensed under the GPL V2).[1] This article shows which Linux distributions and FreeBSD versions are supported to run as virtual machines on Hyper-V.
